The Village Chairman of Mbaukwu, Mr. Benjamin Nwajagu empowers some less privileged youths of the village.

It was a blissful afternoon in Obuofia Village Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government in Anambra State as the Village Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Nwajagu empowered some less privileged youths of the village.

The empowerment program took place during their quarterly meeting where they discussed, among other things, the way forward for the people of Obuofia Village in Mbaukwu.

In an interview with kpakpando correspondents Bekee Ebele, the chairman of Obuofia Village, Mr Nwajagu Benjamin, explained that this batch in view was the pilot scheme and was started with three less privileged people selected by Committee incharge.

He promised members of the village that he would go further in empowering other less privileged in the village and sustain other policy framework aimed at improving livelihood.

Mr. Pascal Nnanor who was evidently overwhelmed by the empowerment package, appreciated the chairman and all those behind the policy decision which saw his own son shortlisted for a scholarship.

Mr. Izuchukwu Okpala Ozigbo, who is the treasurer of Obuofia empowerment scheme, advised the beneficiaries not to disappoint but work hard to justify the resources being invested in their respective handiworks. He promised that they will be sustain the empowerment scheme so as to reduce poverty and unemployment among them.

Some of the successful beneficiaries were Mrs Ebele Nweke who got a sewing machine, Master Ebede Onyeka who got writing materials, and Mrs Lilian Ezewulu, who represented her daughter, Chimamanda Ezewulu who also received writing materials
