Traditional rulers in Anambra State have been urged to ensure they register for the COVID-19 vaccination.
The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu, gave the advice when he led her team on Courtesy visit to sensitize the traditional rulers on the importance of the vaccine at the State Headquarters of the Traditional Rulers Council at the Government House, Awka.
Dr Ezenyimulu who is the leader of the State Technical Committee on Covid-19 Vaccination, informed the Traditional Rulers that Anambra State has taken delivery of COVID-19 vaccines.
She also urged the Traditional Rulers to take the sensitization message to their subjects, as according to her, the Covid-19 vaccine is safe hence the need for them to get vaccinated.
Dr Ezenyimulu hinted that the state front-line health workers would be the first to be vaccinated, and also revealed that people above sixty years of age as well as those with underline medical issues will be the second group to be vaccinated.
Responding on behalf of the Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Obi Alfred Achebe, and other traditional rulers in the State, Igwe Emma Nnabuife of isseke, thanked the team for the sensitization and pledged their unalloyed support to make the exercise successful in the state
