The United States has said steps had been taken to impose visa ban on persons who disrupted the last general election in Nigeria.
The United States has released a statement in Monday by the US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken which noted that the United States is committed to supporting and advancing democracy in Nigeria and around the world.
Blinken announced that they have taken steps to impose visa restrictions on specific individuals in Nigeria for undermining the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections cycle.
Blinken said that these individuals have been involved in intimidation of voters through threats and physical violence, the manipulation of vote results, and other activity that undermines Nigeria’s democratic process.
On many social media forums, Nigerians have reacted differently to the information with most of them asking the US to name the Nigerians affected by the latest visa ban.
