Similarly, the Pan Yoruba Youth Organisation, Igbimo Odo Yoruba, has thrown its weight behind the decision of the Ondo State government, asking all Herders in the State to vacate the state’s forest reserves in 7 days.
The youths vowed to mobilize its members towards ensuring the enforcement of the State government directive, which it said, is aimed at securing the lives of the people.
The group in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its Leader, Comrade Olufemi Lawson, also said the reaction of the Presidency, to the decision of the Ondo State, has further confirmed the belief in so many quarters, that there is corroboration and sponsorship for these criminal elements, masquerading as herders in the presidency.
They said Nigerians should at this point in time, be worried more than ever, about how a government will be so brazenly concerned solely about animal lives more than those of human beings, which it swore to protect, at all times, under the law of the land.
They further warned that they can no longer watch Yorubaland, being put under the siege of the rampaging terrorist herdsmen.
The youths said they recognise the right of legitimate herders and farmers to do their businesses wherever they choose, but must be in compliance with state government procedures and laid down rules.
