13 feared killed in suspected Anambra cult clashes

In a tragic incident in Anambra State, about eleven people were killed during a clash between cult groups in Nibo and Nodu towns both in Awka South on October 20.

According to reports, the violence in Nibo erupted amid the Nibo community’s Onwa Asaa festival, causing panic as attendees fled for safety.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the suspected cult-related clash and stated that the Commissioner of Police has deployed additional security personnel to the area.

The police are urging witnesses to come forward with information to help identify the perpetrators, assuring confidentiality for any tips provided.
