
In another development, Anambra State Police Command says two women, Nneka Ayaene aged 34, and Chinenye Okoh’ aged 22, both of Ndiowu town in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, have been charged to court for allegedly assaulting a 10 year old girl, by pouring hot water on her.

Police report said the victim sustained injuries all over her body and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention
The report recalled that on 5th January, 2021, at about 10.15, in the morning, following a formal complaint of child abuse and grievous assault, police operatives attached to Oko Police Station in Orumba North, arrested the two women suspects who allegedly assaulted their house help one Chidimma Nworie Ani, by pouring her hot water which caused her injuries all over her body.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, the girl’s offence was her inability to wait and return the bowl of water she brought for the suspects.
The PPRO said following the report, police operatives visited the scene and rushed the victim to Best Hospital, Oko, for medical attention where she is currently responding to treatment.
Haruna informed that consequently, the suspects were charged to Magistrate Court, Nanka, for prosecution after conclusion of investigation.
He further disclosed that the case has been adjourned to 10th of next month, while the two suspects were remanded at the Correctional Centre, Onitsha.
