2023: NOA Takes Campaigns On General Elections, Census, Redesigned Naira Notes To Traditional Rulers, Motor Parks In Anambra

Anambra State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has taken its public enlightenment campaigns on the 2023 general elections, National Population and Housing Census and the redesigned Two hundred, Five hundred and One thousand naira notes to Traditional Rulers and moto parks in the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Barrister Charles, Nwoji, speaking when he led his Management Team on advocacy visit to the Traditional Ruler of Nnokwa Community in Idemili South LGA, Igwe Emmanuel Ajamma, at his Palace, said that the essence of the visit was to intimate the Royal Fathers in the State on what is expected of them as regards the forthcoming general elections, National Population and Housing Census as well as issues concerning redesigned naira notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Barrister Nwoji, who spoke through the Deputy Director, Programmes, in the Agency, Sir Joseph Uchendu, described Traditional Rulers as critical stakeholders in ensuring the success of three National assignments.
He pleaded with the Traditional Rulers and other key stakeholders in the State to mobilize their subjects and educate them on the need to go to the nearest Commercial Banks and deposit the old naira still in their possession on or before thirty-first of this January.
He equally advised the electorate to take advantage of the extension period for collection of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs by INEC and visit the Local Government where they were registered to collect their PVCs.
The State NOA Director further urged them to make themselves available on the elections days to vote for candidates of their choice.
While advising the people to also partake actively in the National Population and Housing Census slated to start on the twenty ninth of March this year, the NOA Boss also informed the people that the essence of redesigning the naira notes by CBN was to checkmate the circulation of counterfeits and hoarding of the notes by a few individuals in the country to the detriment of the greater percentage of Nigerians and the Nation’s economy.
Receiving the NOA Boss and his team in his palace, the Traditional Ruler of Nnokwa Community, Igwe Emmanuel Ajamma, lauded NOA for its efforts communicating Government Programmes, activities and Policies to the people, and assured that he would leave no stone unturned in making sure that the massages of the three National events get down to the grassroots in the area and elsewhere in the state for proper execution.
At the Nkpor Central Park, also in Idemili South LGA, the NOA State Director, while addressing motorists, commuters and traders around, reiterated the call on the citizens to work towards building a new Nigerian they desired by participating actively in the general elections, Census and as well accept the new redesigned naira notes as legal tender in the Country.
Barrister Nwoji, assured the people that the new naira notes are already in circulation across the Country, and even in the ATM, though in small bits, and reminded them that Federal Government means no harm in redesigning the naira notes, rather it is committed towards boosting the economy of the Country and good governance for the common good of all.
In their separate speeches, Mr Shedrack Nwalor, a bus driver and Mr Emmanuel Alor, a Keke rider, wondered why Commercial banks have continued to dispense the old naira notes to the customers rather than the new ones.
They called on the appropriate authorities to compel the Central Bank to produce and increase the new naira notes in circulation before enforcing the deadline on circulation of the old notes to save the people from impending hardship .
