62nd Anniversary: Nigerians Reflect On The Progress So Far Since 1960
Nigerians from all walks of life are reflecting on the progress the country has made since independence in 1960.
For an illustrious son of Nimo, Prince Chike Okafor- Agilo, there is need to reorganize the country, run a productive economy facilitate exportation, and the country stronger.
Prince Okafor- Agilo wants to see a new Nigerian leader who understands international politics and who will arm the Country with sophiscated high technology and ensure that the nation’s economy becomes strong.
He opined that what Nigeria needs now is a leader who will bring down the country’s inflation rate which should not be more than eleven percent and to encourage its productivity level.
Prince Okafor- Agilo suggested other key measures to boost the nation’s profile to include creating more jobs for the youths, fighting corruption, bringing down the pump price of petrol to about #120.00 per litre and using religious diversity in the country to build a more united Nigeria.
He further posited that for Nigeria to be prosperous, its citizens should be made to trust the system.
On his part, a community leader, Dr.Cyprian Afunugo, admitted that Nigeria was on course initially but derailed in the era of the past administration of the Peoples Democratic party and the APC administrations.
Dr.Afunugo urged Nigerians to give Mr. Peter Obi the opportunity to govern the country by voting enmasse for him in the 2023 general elections.
In his message, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Anambra state Chapter, Dr. Peter Ogbuka, regretted that Nigeria was yet to discover itself at 62.
Dr.Ogbuka asked Nigerians to give the younger generation of Nigerians the opportunity to govern the country by voting enmasse for them in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to propel the nation to higher pedestrian.
