Reports reaching our News Desk say about eight persons were feared burnt to death when unidentified persons set ablaze a campaign vehicle belonging to the PDP House of Reps candidate for Enugu North/South Hon Offor Chukwuegbo.
Details of the incident are not yet clear but a video clips in the social media showed pictures of burnt occupants of the Sienna bus belonging to the Reps candidate.
The report said the incident happened near the popular Eke Otu market in Amechi.
In a similar development, another report said at least two persons were burnt to death at Amechi Awkunanaw Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Information about the incident is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report but sources said the burnt Sienna was the same the Senate candidate Oyibo Chukwu uses.
He is the Labour Party candidate for Enugu East Senatorial zone in the Saturday election.
Identities of the victims were yet to be ascertained but Labour party leaders who spoke to reporters said the Senate candidate’s phones were not connecting.
