The Governments of Anambra and Enugu States have taken a significant step towards resolving long-standing land boundary disputes between them. The disputes have been ongoing between various communities in both states, including Awba-Ofemili in Anambra and Ibite-Olo in Enugu, as well as Omasi in Anambra and Adani in Enugu.

According to report, recently, the Deputy Governors of both states, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim of Anambra and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai of Enugu, held a closed-door meeting at the Enugu State office to discuss the boundary issues. The meeting was attended by other officials, including the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Boundary and the Secretary of the Enugu State Boundary Committee.

Although the outcome of the meeting is yet to be officially announced, sources suggest that the deliberation was fruitful, with both governments expressing their commitment to achieving a peaceful and lasting solution. The meeting also reportedly approved a joint technical session between both states to facilitate the resolution process.

This development comes as the Anambra State Government has been actively working to resolve other boundary disputes, including the one between Amaetiti and Okpeze communities in Orumba North Local Government Area.
