The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) held a rally on Tuesday in protest against the dismissal of five lecturers from Lagos State University, Ojo.

The rally, organized by ASUU’s Owerri Zone, began at 10 a.m.

ASUU claims the lecturers were illegally dismissed and is also protesting the victimization of its members at other institutions, including Kogi State University, Ebonyi State University, and Federal University of Technology Owerri.

The union is calling on university authorities and governing councils to address these issues, citing unfair dismissals, suspensions, and non-payment of salaries.
