Anambra sports lovers gathered at the Neros Stadium Nanka to witness the final match of the Igwe Nanka YSFON U-17 match on Sunday, 22nd August.
Earlier in the day, Hark Dove FA beat Jefab FA 3:1 to claim the third place.
Aguata FA became the champion of Igwe Nanka YSFON U- 17 Cup after defeating GP World FA on 4:2 penalities as the match ended on a 1:1 draw.

GP World had the first lead in the 15 minutes of the first half with team mates Ifeanyi Edeba and Stanley Ezim working together to end the first half with a goal in their favor.

Aguata FA, which had about six siblings playing for the team they bounced back in the second half to equalize, with a brilliant control from Chibueze Okechukwu in the 78th minute. At full time of regular play, with both teams scoring 1:1, a penalty shootout became necessary to determine winner of the game.
Awards were given to the deserving players with Chiemelie Chukwuka of Aguata FA emerging the Most Valuable Player and the Highest Goal Scorer was given to Chibueze Okechukwu of Aguata FA. He got the awards with the total of 8 goals as against the captain of GP World FA Captain who scored 7 goals.

The winning teams got different cash prizes as gifts . Aguata FA got 200,000 naira winner’s prize while GP World FA got the second place prize of 150,000. Hark Dove FA got 100,000 naira as third place and Jefab got 50,000 naira as fourth place.

In his vote of thanks, the Chairman of Anambra State Youth and Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) , Akonam Obiefuna commended everyone that made the tournament a success , especially HRH Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, the Pillar of Sports, Agu Donatus, his vice chairman Micheal Mbaezue , members of YSFON and the media team .

The tournament had in attendance the Custodian of Nanka, HRH Igwe Godwin Ezeilo Obu-Nanka, Pillar of Sports and former President Karate Federation of Nigeria Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, Ex- Super Falcons Assistant Coach Ambassador Maureen Mmadu, FA Vice Chairman, Victor Aniekwena, CEO Visa Oil Christian Ezeokoli, Chairman Anambra Independent Football League Rev Fr Obinna Dike, Emmanuel Obiekunie, Paul Chinedu among others.
