Agulu community officially hands over a parcel of land to the Nigeria Immigration Services, NIS.

Agulu community on Friday 14th October 2022, officially handed over a parcel of land to the Nigeria Immigration Services, NIS, through the transition Chairman of Anaoch local government Anambra state.

The hand over ceremony which was hosted by the President General of Agulu People’s Union, Chief Oliver Afamefuna, took place at Pencil house Agulu , in the presence of the chief host, the traditional Ruler of Agulu HRH Igwe Innocent Obodoakor (Ezedinobi-Ezeani the 3rd)

According to Chief Oliver the official hand over of the approved land documents for the building of the Nigeria Immigration Services office in Agulu community Anaocha local government Anambra state is to buttress that Agulu is one of the biggest and accommodating towns in Anambra state.

On behalf of the community, the PG appreciated the controller general of Nigeria Immigration Services and the Commandant in Anambra state.

Speaking to our newsmen, Chief Oliver said that Agulu people are happy because history was made the temporary office of Immigration Services in Agulu Pencil house which will soon move to the permanent site. He stated that the current administration under his watch is ready to embrace good progressive ideas and will ensure that other infrastructure development comes to Agulu and asked the support of the people to join hands with his executives for a better Agulu.

Upon the directive of Igwe Obodoakor, the transition local government council chairman, Hon Ikechukwu Ozoh presented the documents officially to the Commandant Nigeria Immigration Services Awka Anambra who was represented by Chief Superintendent N.A Eze.

Superintendent Eze on behalf of the Commandant Anambra state thanked the Tranditional Ruler, Ndi Agulu and Anaocha in general and promised to pass the information and documents to the commandant who will take it to their superior.
He appealed to the Transition Chairman Hon Ikechukwu Ozoh to carry them along in matters involving other sister security agencies in terms of collaboration and synergy and promised to work with the council for progress.

The Immediate past President General of Agulu ,Chief Andy Orakwelu gave the vote of thanks and urged the commission to commence work to put up a structure on the land given to them and thanked the presidents general of some towns in Anaocha that came to witness the event.

Among the people present were Sir Paulinus Aniagboso ,Chief Andy Orakwelu Former House Member Hon Sylvester Okeke, TC Chairman Anaocha, Hon Ikechuwku Ozoh, Hon Eric Maduagwu, Hon Chinazo Onwuazombe among others.
