Amara Iwuayanwu Reinstated As Deputy Speaker Of Imo House Of Assembly

About 19 Imo state house of Assembly members on Monday reinstated honourable Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu the earlier impeached Deputy Speaker of the Assembly back to his position.

Recall Iwuanyanwu was impeached by 18 out of the 27 lawmakers last Tuesday.
The former Speaker Paul Emeziem, who presided over the plenary, okayed the impeachment of Iwuanyanwu without reading the content of the resolution.

The 19 lawmakers who unanimously reinstated the deputy speaker also moved a motion for an impeachment notice which saw the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem immediately impeached.

The Speaker was impeached after 19 out of the 27 members of the State House of Assembly signed the impeachment notice.
In the meantime, the member representing Obowo State Constituency, Kennedy Ibeh, has been elected as the new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
