Three native doctors, including Chidozie Nwangwu, also known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki,” Eke Hit, and Onye Eze, were arraigned in the Anambra State High Court, Awka, on Friday. Their charges include involvement in “money rituals,” “oke ite,” and preparing charms for criminals.
The trio was arrested in February following the Anambra State government’s crackdown on such activities.
Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo had earlier declared war on native doctors with the signing of the Anambra Homeland Security Law, leading to the creation of security outfits like “Agunechemba.” The accused are believed to be contributing to rising insecurity in the state. The case has been adjourned after their pleas were taken.
