
In continuation of his philanthropic works that began before his sojourn into politics, the Deputy Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, has presented cash empowerment packages to over 20 constituents of Awka South II Constituency.
The second edition of the empowerment program, which featured the disbursement of two million, four hundred thousand naira to 25 of his constituents, recorded the presence of the Rt. Hon. Harford Oseke and many other notable figures. The event took place on Friday, 29th March 2024, amidst excitement by the constituents.
In their remarks, the former deputy speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Harford Oseke, the chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Awka South Local Government Area, Barrister Chukwuma Lawrence, and Hon. Innocent Obinna Ekemezie described the empowerment program as an actualization of the ideals of Governor Soludo, who always insist that human capital development be given utmost priority.
They urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to make appropriate use of the opportunity, describing Hon. Okoye as a lawmaker who has distinguished himself with exemplary delivery of public service.
Speaking earlier, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, while reiterating his resolve towards human capital development, recounted schemes of effective representation by his administration.
He implored the beneficiaries to use the empowerment opportunity judiciously and sought continued support from constituents.
Hon. Okoye explained that the empowerment program is geared towards assisting the poorest of the poor in society and is designed to complement the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in delivering democracy dividends to the people.
Some of the beneficiaries, Mr. Eze Ebede and Mrs. Ogochukwu Ezenwaka, who described the legislator as a blessing to their lives and humanity. They also prayed for Hon. Okoye and promised to use the money judiciously.
