The Anambra State House of Assembly has ratified the election of the chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
By their ratification, the chairmen and their members have 3 months to operate before another election is carried out.
Speaking after the election, the Speaker of the State Assembly? Right Honourable Uche Okafor, who presided over the plenary session which produced the elected officers, urged them to carry the people along in the discharge of their duties.
He said they should also redouble their efforts to ensure that development is brought nearer the people, as well as ensuring that the Covid-19 protocols are observed.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman of all the Chairmen, Barrister Raphael Acha, promised, on behalf of his colleagues, to ensure developments in their respective council areas.
He thanked Governor Willie Obiano for giving them the opportunity to serve their people.
Present during the occasion, were the Deputy Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Paschal Agbodike, the Transition Committee Chairmen for Ihiala Local Government, Mr.Jude Obiwulu, Oyi LGA Engr. Nnamdi Nwadiogbu, Nnewi South, Mr Chieloka Okoye,among others.
