In a related development, the town of Isiagu in Awka South, Anambra came alive on the occasion of their New Yam Festival and Chieftaincy conferment on deserving sons and daughters of the town.
According to our correspondent, Ifeoma Egbeocha, Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye, who recently received the title of Ekwueme 1 of Ezinato was present to pay homage to the traditional ruler of Isiagu, “Igwe Agu the 2nd of Isiagu.
One of the recipients of the chieftaincy title, Chief Felicia Ekemezie, who was conferred with a chieftaincy title of “Ada Isiagu” was elated as it was a sign of her commitment to her town.
In her speech, Ada Isiagu said the Igwe of Isiagu conferred on her the chieftaincy title as a result of her contributions to her people especially in the area of peace and conflict resolution, as God used her to settle a major dispute between her people and she prayed that God will bless her people and give them long life.
Speaking further, the senior sister of the recipient, Onyeka Onyenekwu said her sister accepted the chieftaincy title as a true daughter of the land and prayed that she will always contribute her quota in making Isiagu a better place to live by all and sundry.
