The Anambra State Government has sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, Ihiala LGA, following fraud complaints from residents.

The shrine, operated by self-proclaimed native doctor Ekene Igboegbueze, allegedly promised people supernatural wealth. Special Adviser on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi, led the operation, stating the business violated Anambra’s Homeland Security Laws.

Authorities have sealed properties linked to the shrine, and all items recovered will undergo forensic examination.

Director of Operations for Agunechemba Security Outfit, Chinenye Ihenko, warned youths against patronizing fake spiritual leaders, emphasizing that such activities promote a dangerous “get-rich-quick” mentality. He urged residents to engage in legitimate ventures as the government continues its crackdown on illegal spiritual operations.
