Anambra Govt. Assures Nsugbe Community Transparent Town Union Election

Anambra State Government has promised to conduct transparent Town Union Election for Nsugbe Development Union, for peace to reign.
The Town Union election has been scheduled to hold on 31st December, 2022.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, who represented Governor Chukwuma Soludo during a Stakeholders meeting with all the Nsugbe Town Union Branches at the Government House, Awka, stressed that the Governor is passionate to see that peace returned to all communities in the state.
Addressing the Stakeholders, Commissioner Nwabunwanne promised to conduct the Nsugbe Development Union Election to enable the town benefit from the dividends of Democracy.
The Commissioner who assures that the Election will be in line with the town Union Constitution under the supervision of his Ministry, reminded them that every Document in the ministry is now digitized and also promised to publish the date when other communities who are due will conduct their elections as a way of giving communities fair hearing for continued peace and stability.
He appealed to them to embrace peace, noting that the caretaker committee has consented to the arrangement, while all the branches unanimously agreed with the state that the Election must hold on December 31, 2022.
In their separate speeches, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters , Barrister Tobechukwu Nweke, the Youth President of Nsugbe, Honourable Nonso Onwuzurike, Honourable Onyedika Dibua, the Chairman, Nsugbe Development Union, Awka Branch, Hon. Chinweze Onuora, Hon. Pius Ifeadi, National financial Secretary, Theophilus Meze, and the Nsugbe Woman leader, Lady Ngozi Emencheta, and Hon. Cyril Okafor among others, called on the interested candidates to vye for the various positions.
They urged government to uphold the date, while thanking the Commissioner for putting a halt to caretaker committees in the state.
In their vote of thanks, the immediate past Secretary-General of the town Union, Sir Obiorah Emencheta, and Rev, Father Innocent Egbunike appreciated Governor Soludo administration and Commissioner Collins Nwabunwanne for having listening ears to communities issues which, according to them, is the best way to demonstrate Democracy.
They promised that Nsugbe Community will continue to give their unalloyed Support to the present Administration.
