Anambra Govt Totally Committed To Youths Devt.- Commissioner Nwabunwanne

Anambra State Government says it is totally committed to youth development and is poised to pursue community-based driven programmes for youths in the state.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Collins Nwabunwanne, made the assertion during the Program of Events of Ministry of Youths Development, Anambra State, Local Government Officers Capacity Training held at the SSG Conference Hall, Government House, Awka.

He applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for organising training programmes for Local Government Youths Desk Officers on ICT.

The Commissioner who reminded youths/ graduands that Governor Soudo is quite ready for digitizing the state, urged the youths to make good use of the training, noting that ICT will help impact them with skills, training and Empowerment.

He explained that the government is working relentlessly to provide enabling environment, processes and structures encoded in relevant high profile 1000 youths millionaire yearly, through targeted community-based youth Empowerment programs, well-structured monitoring and Evaluation System.

The Commissioner further extolled the state government for targeting to create more jobs and business opportunities for youths, while congratulating the graduands for the successful completion of the programme.

He emphasised the need for hard work and commitment toward the fast-tracking collection of relevant data on youths in the 21 local government Areas of the state.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Aghamba, expressed satisfaction that critical steps are being taken towards the establishment of a robust youths database, pointing out that with the successful completion of the training, and deployment of relevant staff to collect vital information on youths, the Ministry of Youths Development in line with Mr Governor’s vision, has positioned itself to take the lead in Revolutionizing Anambra State into becoming a digital tribe to make Anambra a Smart Mega City.

Commissioner Aghamba appreciated the partner’s Pa cent Technology Limited, the facilitator and the Research and Statistics for training the participants to standard.

Contributing, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Dan Ezeanwu, the Director, Youths Development, Mrs Chito Osili, and the Principal Consultant, Dr Innocent Umeh, among others expressed satisfaction with the training.

The participants including Mr Chibuzo Udeh, thanked the organisers for their efforts in moulding them to standard while praying to God to bless and keep them.

They promised to make good use of the training for their own good and for a better Anambra State.

Presentation of Certificates and laptops to the graduands formed the high point of the program.
