Anambra Police Command Calls on All to be Security Conscious

Anambra residents have been advised to be guided by some security measures and tips as part of efforts to curtail security challenges, as well as enhance public safety and peace in the State, especially now that Christmas is fast approaching.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Eworo, gave the advice in a release signed on behalf of the commissioner, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.

He urged residents of the state to promptly report any suspicious movement within their immediate environment and any missing vehicle to the nearest police station or call the emergency or control room numbers, 112 and 07039194332 respectively. 

The release also urged parents and guardians to pay closer attention to the activities of their children and wards.

The release further advised members of the public to desist from engaging in jungle justice, but to exercise restraint and endeavor to take any suspect apprehended to the nearest police station, to afford the police the opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation and bring the suspect to justice.

It also stressed the need for residents of the state to obey state government’s directive on ban on tinted vehicles glasses, covered plate numbers, saying they should report any police infringement to the command by calling the commands control room number, 07039194332 or Public Complaints Bureau on 08039334002. 

The release further directed all hotels to promptly submit their guests lists daily to the nearest Divisional Police headquarters, while all proprietors of private and public hospitals should admit, but promptly report anyone with bullet wounds or any related injuries to the nearest police station.

The release reaffirmed police commitment towards consolidating on the gains in crime prevention and restoration of law and order and improving safety and security of lives and property.

The statement assured that the police, the military and other security agencies are ever ready to contain any security situation that may arise and prevent threats to lives and property.
