The Anambra State Police Command has thanked the people of Ihiala LGA of Anambra State for conducting themselves peacefully at Tuesday’s Anambra State Governorship supplementary election that took place at Ihiala.
In a statement signed by DSP Nwode Nkeiruka,
Zonal PPRO/Head Media For 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election, the Commissioner of Police; Echeng Eworo Echeng said he was awed by the conduct of the masses which aided in the achievement of hitch free exercise.
He therefore appreciated the people of Anambra State in general for responding to the civic call with all sense of decorum.
Echeng said that the successful conduct of the election wouldn’t have been possible if not for the decision of the people of the state to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.
On the security report from Ihiala, he said that combined security operatives on patrol invaded the camp of the gunmen who wanted to cause chaos and dislodged them.
He maintained that there was no casualty on the side of the operatives.
Echeng also urged anyone in the health sector to report to the police anyone who may approach them for treatment of gunshot wounds.
