Anambra Police Confirm Kidnap of Nnewi-Based Urologist

The police have confirmed the abduction of Dr. Cornelius Onuigbo, a renowned urologist at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening at the entrance of the doctors’ residence in Nnewi as Dr. Onuigbo was returning home from work.
Eyewitnesses reported that armed men intercepted the medical doctor, engaged him briefly, and then forced him into their vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, has ordered an immediate operation to rescue the abducted doctor. SP Ikenga assured that efforts are ongoing to secure his release and bring the perpetrators to justice.
