The race to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah for the Anambra South Senatorial seat is heating up, as Chief Jude Emecheta, a leading aspirant under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has stepped down for Chief Ebuka Onunkwo.
Emecheta, a former Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) and a key supporter of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, made the announcement during a meeting with his supporters.
He described Onunkwo as the most qualified candidate, urging his supporters to back him in the upcoming APGA primaries. He clarified that his decision was not influenced by financial incentives, but rather a strategic move to unite Ekwusigo candidates.
With Emecheta’s withdrawal, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo will now face Chief Akai Egwuonwu in the APGA senatorial primaries.
