The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) , Anambra state sector commander Adeoye Irelewuyi has cautioned motorists against over speeding and night journey, saying that driving above safe speed limit can cause the driver to lose control at the slightest obstruction. He also called out against Night driving , saying that in a case of breakdown or car crash, the possibility of getting help is highly reduced.

He gave the warning when he visited the state leadership of Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

The commander also warned drivers against the continuous loading and offloading of passengers and goods at the foot of the bridge , despite repeated warnings as it obstructs free flow of traffic and also adds unnecessary pressure on the bridge.

He assured the association of the Corps commitment to maintaining safety of drivers in Anambra and also called on the chairman of the association to sensitize his men on the dangers of over speeding and night travels.

In his reply, the state chairman of RTEAN , Comrade Joesph Nwabueze said that he and his team will keep working on ridding the bridge of all obstructions by drivers , while he also decried the recklessness of some Keke drivers in the state. He also restated their commitment to ensuring free flow of traffic on the roads, especially on the bridge.
