Anambra State Government Condems Attack On Ifitedunu President General .

Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, has condemned the attack on Ifitedunu President General, Chief Uchenna Nwoye, warning that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, will bring the perpetrators to book to serve as deterrent to others.

The Commissioner stated this while addressing Presidents-General of various communities in the state led by ASATU President, Barrister Titus Akpudo, who came to protest the beating of Ifitedunu Town Union President General, Mr. Nwoye at Government House, Awka.

Mr. Nwabunwanne frowned at the incident, and assured that the culprit would be arrested and charged to court in accordance with Nigeria’s law .

The Commissioner advised aggrieved party in any warring communities to report their grievances to the Ministry of Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs for prompt intervention by the state government, instead of taking the laws into their hands.

He assured the Presidents Generals of government’s continuous protection of their lives, urging them to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda of making Anambra a livable and prosperous State .

Addressing Journalists during the protest, the ASATU President, Barr Akpudo, called on state government to expedite action against the perpetrators of the act.

He explained that the Molestation and beating of Mr Nwoye was unacceptable.

Contributing, Umuoji President General, Mr Sly Onyima, and that of Okija, Chief Ken Emeakayi, among others, totally condemned the attack and implored the state government to come to their aid.
