Anambra State Government Donates Farm Equipment to APLSCD.

On the 9th of April 2024, the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD) received a generous donation of farm equipment from the Anambra State Government, facilitated by the Disability Rights Commission led by Chairman Barr Chukwuka Ezewuzie.

The equipment, delivered personally by Barr Ezewuzie, was made available through the International Office of Migration to support victims of flood disasters and farmers with disabilities in their agricultural endeavors.

Commending the donor agency, Barr Ezewuzie expressed gratitude to the International Office of Migration for their support. He highlighted that the distribution aimed to assist farmers with disabilities, including those affected by sickle cell disease.

Mrs. Aisha Edward Maduagwu, National Coordinator of APLSCD, expressed profound gratitude to the government of Prof Charles Soludo and the Disability Rights Commission for providing a sense of belonging to persons living with sickle cell disorder.

She emphasized the significance of the farm equipment for the organization’s planting season, noting their plans to cultivate crops like yam, maize, and vegetables to enhance the nutritional intake of sickle cell children and boost their immune systems.

She urged Barr Ezewuzie to extend appreciation to the International Office of Migration on behalf of APLSCD for their generous donation.

The donated farm equipment includes wheelbarrows, spades, hand gloves, machetes, hoes, among others, essential for enhancing agricultural productivity.
