Anambra State Government in conjunction with UNICEF has organised a workshop for Radio Stations, in Anambra State on Rural Immunization, These These 0Survival and COVID-19 Prevention.
The workshop which took place on Monday, December 3rd 2020, in Awka, Anambra State Capital, aimed at raising wider awareness on adhering to all the protocols that help in control of spread of Covid-19.
Kpakpando representative at the workshop, Udoka Nwokoye, reports that the workshop had in attendance, representatives from selected Radio Stations in the state, members of State National Orientation Agency, NOA and UNICEF.
In his presentation, the resource person, Mr Isaac Onuzulike, described the workshop as a preparation for Joint Radio program on Rural Immunization, Child Survival and COVID-19 Prevention.
He harped on the need for citizens to continue to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols as there are clear signs that there will be a surge in coronavirus cases as a result of people that will be traveling for the Christmas holiday from various locations.
Mr Onuzulike pointed out that one of the ways to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 is through proper use of mother of all protocols which is wearing of face mask and proper maintenance of personal hygiene.
He urged all hands to be on deck towards ensuring and encouraging all to make available some of the materials especially in provision of facemask for schools, markets and churches, especially during Christmas holiday, citing movements of people as one of the factors responsible for human to human transmission.
In a vote of thanks, Mrs Chineze George-Ileka, thanked all the presenters for availing their time for the workshop , even as she tasked all to use local dialects in their presentations so as to be impactful and achieve the desired results.
Some of the participants from the different radio stations who spoke at the workshop promised to be humane in their presentations, by bringing experts from various medical spheres to encourage the masses to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocol.
