Anambra State Government says it has dignified Agriculture in the State.

Anambra State government has stated that it has dignified Agriculture in the State through a total remodelling of the sector.

This was made known by the commissioner of Agriculture, Mr Nnamdi Onukwuba during an interactive section with journalists.

Mr Onukwuba observed that Ndi Anambra are now more predisposed to exploring available and emerging opportunities for gainful engagement.

According to him, agriculture which was previously abandoned for only rural dweller has become very attractive to urban dwellers alike given the present government’s enormous investments in the sector.

He revealed that farmers across the state receive free seedlings from government in order to reduce their overhead costs while the state government assists donor agencies with counterpart funding in setting up aggregation points to provide processing and storage facilities for small holder farmers and avoid wastage.

The commissioner claimed that Anambra women and youths are being engaged and employed in Agricultural ventures at an astronomical scale
