The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a policeman seen in a viral video using his AK-47 rifle to beat a tricycle operator.
Following public outrage, police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the arrest and stated that the officer is being questioned.
He said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered immediate disciplinary action and stressed zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct.
The command is urging the victim to come forward to aid the investigation and reminded citizens to respect civil authority and remain law-abiding.
