The Anambra State Police Command has initiated an investigation into allegations of extortion involving one of its officers. Social media posts claim that an unidentified officer attached to the Onitsha Area Command extorted 810,000 naira from a young man in the state.
In response, Police Command Spokesperson SP Ikenga Tochukwu stated that efforts are underway to identify the officer in question. The incident has been reported to the Area Commander Onitsha for further action.
The Command urges the victim to visit the Public Relations Office at the Police Headquarters in Awka to provide information to aid the investigation.
SP Tochukwu assured that further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
