IGP sets up new special unit SWAT to replace the dissolved SARS

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has set up a new Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team . Following the dissolution of The Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS, the new team will fill the gaps created .

According to Force Public Relations Officer Headquarters, Abuja, DCP Frank Mba in a statement said that the members of this new team will also undergo psychological and medical examination to ascertain their fitness and eligibility for the new assignment. Training for the team will commence next week at different police tactical training institutions nationwide

IGP Mohammed Adamu also made it known that the issue of compensation to the families of those wronged by SARS would be addressed after proper investigations.
