Anambra state Police command Intensifies the Identification of deceased accident victim

Anambra State Police Command says it is making  efforts to locate the relatives of an accident victim who died in a hospital has proved abortive.

 In view of this, the Command has urged the public  whose relations got missing  to report at Oba Police Station for possible identification and claim of the victim.

 A release issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, said on the 29/5/2020 at about 10:30am, along Oba-Nnewi old Road, a  Mitsubishi L300 bus with REG.NO AFZ 71 XA driven by one Sunday Igwe  ‘m’ of No:24 Ikwo street Ugwuagba Obosi in Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State, lost control and knocked down a middle aged man whose identity is yet unknown.

He as a result, the victim became unconscious.

According to the release, Police operatives attached to Oba Division visited the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor on duty.

The PPRO informed that the corpse was deposited at the gateway mortuary for postmortem Examination and preservation, while the driver was arrested.

Explaining further, Mr Haruna Mohammed said efforts to locate the relatives of the victim proved abortive since the date of the accident.

He urged those whose relations are missing and matched above description to report at Oba Police Station for possible identification and claim of the victim.
