The Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr Obiora Nweke, has called on governor Willie Obiano to order a total dethronement and banishment of the 13 suspended traditional rulers, who travelled with Engineer Arthur Eze to Abuja for an interaction with President Muhammadu Buhari, without government permission.
The Transition Committee boss, while speaking to newsmen on Thursday, September 10, 2020, shortly after a meeting with the newly crowned traditional Ruler of Mkpunando community, Igwe-elect Johnson Onyeaka-Mbanefo, and his entourage at the council headquarters Otuacha, Anambra state, explained that the suspended monarchs desecrated the land by their action and should therefore be made to face the consequence and allow a new administration to set in.
On the newly crowned monarch of Mkpunando, Mr Nweke promised to forward the name of the new Igwe-elect to the state governor for possible recognition without delayed.
He maintained that the Traditional ruler was chosen by the entire community wholeheartedly after waiting for such opportunity 7-years ago, for having contributed to the development and progress of the community, praying God to give him wisdom and knowledge.
The Igwe-elect, Johnson Onyeaka-Mbanafo, in his appreciation, said his crown has liberated his community from atrocities and lack of development, assuring his readiness to uphold the custom and tradition of the land, while ensuring that fundamental human rights of his subjects would also be upheld.
