Anambra State Commissioner for Youths Empowerment and Creative Economy, Professor Theresa Obiekezie, gave the advice at a symposium to round off activities marking the 2020 International Youths Day which held in Awka, Anambra State Capital.

The Commissioner challenged them to shun all forms of irresponsible acts including cultism, robbery, kidnapping, restiveness, political thuggery and violence and to join hands with government to build a virile Anambra State everybody will be proud of.
She restated the readiness of the ministry to engage the youths in programmes that would better the state and create enabling environment for them to thrive, noting that the state governor Willie Obiano has been involved in youth development since he assumed office.
The Commissioner posited that state Government had, through the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, initiated programmes like “One Youth, One Skill” that has trained more than 700 youths between November 2018 and August 2020 in various skills like confectionery/event management, computer management/software applications, POP, tilling as well as screeding/interlocking, cosmology and solar installation”.
