The Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Right Reverend Ndubuisi Obi, has said that Nigeria as presently constituted is not working.
The Bishop who pointed this out in his maiden Presidential Charge during the 2020 Synod of the Nnewi Diocese of the Anglican Communion on Friday, noted that the common people are suffering, and that there is abject poverty in the land despite huge oil revenue.
The Bishop declared that this is most unacceptable, observing that Nigeria is only working for those who are benefitting from its resources
The Bishop then called for restructuring as the only way to correct the anomalies and check the tide of persistent wanton killing of Christians in parts of Nigeria as well as put an end to other atrocities bedeviling the nation.
Bishop Obi appealed to President Muhamadu Buhari to make every effort to secure the release of Leah Sharibu and all other abducted persons still being held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists.
On Coronavirus pandemic, Bishop Obi advised Nigerians to protect themselves, maintain good hygiene, avoid crowded places, desist from always traveling and pray always.
