Our great party is shocked to learn that a sitting legislator has been murdered gruesomely , and in a manner, so humiliating to the legislature, government and people of Anambra State.
Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, represented Aguata 2 State Constituency until he was kidnapped recently, leading to his painful demise, announced yesterday.
We hope his active soul will assist our dear Anambra State resolve the novel mystery of murder by pre-historic modes.
Since no organization has taken responsibility for this dastardly act, our party is not quick to ascribe it to any bandwagon thoughts that may mislead investigation.
Instead, we urge the Nigerian Police to go beyond the trending act of issuing public statements, to crack the riddle of this particular murder.
We solicit cooperation amongst all security agencies in the security apparatus of the state, including Vigilante Services in Epicentre locations of this heunous crime.
We urge Ndi Anambra not to be quick to assume anything, but to respond with useful information as requested by the state government.
We urge Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, not to take lightly the wonderful coincidence of the first legislator to be murdered in the state, representing the governor’s Constituency.
No clue should not be explored and no stone should remain unturned in resolving this one murder too many.
