APGA National Chairman Pays Homage To Obi Of Onitsha On The Auspicious Ofala Festival
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has described the traditional ruler of Onitsha, Obi Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, Agbogidi, as “a highly revered and distinguished traditional ruler who is an exemplar of unwavering fortitude, an unyielding advocate for the Igbo people, and an esteemed statesman whose presence is marked by an aura of extraordinary wisdom and intellectual acuity.”
Barr. Ezeokenwa stated this when he paid homage to the traditional ruler on the occasion of the 2023 OFALA Festival: IRU OFALA and his 22nd OFALA Anniversary.
Barr. Ezeokenwa commended the Obi’s steadfast commitment to the promotion of Igbo unity and progress.
Ezeokenwa praised Agbogidi for his role as the Chairman of the South East Traditional Rulers Council, where he consistently brings honor and respect to the Igbo people.
The APGA National Chairman acknowledged the significant role played by the Obi of Onitsha in fostering peace and harmony within the community. He noted that the Ofala Festival is one of the biggest celebrations in West Africa and serves as a platform for the promotion of Igbo culture, bringing people from various backgrounds together to celebrate the rich traditions of Onitsha.
Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa also lauded the Obi’s contributions to the development and welfare of his subjects, as well as his advocacy for socio-economic growth in the entire Anambra State. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, Onitsha will continue to experience progress and prosperity, and on behalf of APGA, he wishes his Majesty many more OFALA in strong health.
