The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has challenged Christians to understand the mission of satan and conquer it through prayer.

Most Reverend Ibezim stated this at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, during church service for confirmation and admission into Mother’s Union and Girls’ Guild.

Most Reverend Ibezim, who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka, said from time immemorial, satan has been looking for who to destroy, kill and steal from, so as to lead them to eternal damnation.

He maintained that Jesus Christ came to give man abundant life and reconcile him with his maker so as to inherit God’s kingdom.

Most Reverend Ibezim, who asked the newly confirmed to keep to their faith, live according to the directives of the Holy spirit, urged mothers not to be weak, but pray fervently and hand over everything about life to God.

While thanking God for the visit, the Archdeacon, Amawbia Archdeaconry, Venerable Vincent Nkemdilim, said they have been enriched with the Archbishop’s visit, promising that they will continue to propagate the gospel of Christ and preach the undiluted word of God.

Some of those newly admitted into the Mothers’ Union, including Mrs Chinweoke Adikuru, Mrs Franca Aronu of Commercial Department of the ABS and Mrs Anna Okechukwu, promised to keep the vow made and uphold moral living.

The service, which was for the eight churches under Amawbia Archdeaconry, was attended by the President, Women’s Ministry, Province of the Niger and Diocese of Awka, Mrs. Martha Ibezim, and clergymen in Amawbia Archdeaconry, while confirmation, admissions, special prayer sessions, and thanksgiving climaxed the visit.
