Aspire FC on it again, as Players and Officials began medical screening ahead of Super (8) on Wednesday 27th January 2021

To confirm the team health status ahead of the Anambra Super 8 tournament billed to start on February 1, 2021,the free Medical examination holding at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, with all players, coaches and other officials from the 27 participating clubs, is being sponsored by Aspire FC Adazi, the main benefactor of the tournament.

The remaining 13 clubs participating from Anambra Central took part in the medical exercise while Anambra North and South holds on thursday 29th January 2021.

Speaking to Sports Writers, the head of medical team, Oraegbunem Chukwuagozie, a licensed nurse, said the medical screening included height and weight index, blood pressure, blood sugar level and others like coronavirus pandemic test been conducted by a team from the NCDC.

In a statement by Chukwuagozie, the medical care was aimed at establishing the health status of the beneficiaries for proper advice and necessary actions which is capable of reducing casualties in the competition.

The brand manager of Aspire FC, Ezeasor Chidimma, explained that the exercise was important because neglecting the health status of team players could lead to untimely deaths and so much regrets for the game of football.

She added that this is new innovation and that they are trying to set up idle records, in such a way that the tournament is anchored on FIFA standard.

She however regretted that a lot of players and other officials had died across the globe due to club’s inability to discover their health status maintaining that they don’t want to make such mistakes.
