The Awka Anglican Communion has organized its Advent Prayer Convention through the inspiration of the Anglican Archbishop of the Niger Province and the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Dr. Alexander Ibezim.

The theme of the prayer Convention, “You Shall Reap The Fruit Of Your Labour,” aimed at preparing Anglican faithful in the diocese for high spirituality to be ready to receive Jesus Christ at Christmas.

Speaking on the convention, the Secretary of Mission and Evangelism, Anglican Diocese of Awka, Venerable Solomon Arinze Chukwu Chidoka, noted that the spiritual exercise was also to mobilize Christians to pray during the period of advent and to share the word of God.

Venerable Chidoka further noted that participants at the occasion will begin to reap the dividends of their participation at next year’s Lenten prayer Convention.

He used the forum to express appreciate God for a peaceful governorship election in Anambra State and enjoined the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, to justify the mandate given to them by the electorate.
