In his Easter message, Bishop Kukah stressed the importance of transparent recruitment processes to instill patriotism and dismantle the grip of feudalism and favoritism. He called for a clear communication strategy to articulate national goals, timelines, and accountability measures beyond mere announcements of appointments.
Bishop Kukah criticized the overreliance on military intervention, describing it as detrimental to democracy and national security. He highlighted the paradox of military presence in civilian life, cautioning against diluting the professionalism of the armed forces by involving untrained groups in security operations.
He underscored the need for effective utilization of resources to combat insecurity, lamenting the current state where fighting insecurity has become a lucrative venture.
