BUA Denies Involvement Un Agulu-Awgbu Multiple Road Crash That Claimed 6 Lives

BUA Cement Plc has denied claims that one of its trucks was involved in the tragic accident that occurred on Agulu-Awgbu Road in Orumba North LGA of Anambra State.
It was earlier reported on Wednesday, that BUA Company truck was involved in a multiple road traffic crash on Agulu-Awgbu Road in Orumba North LGA.
However, reacting to the report, the company denied any link of the accident to BUA Cement truck.
BUA Cement, in an official statement, emphasized that the truck in question does not belong to their fleet.
The company, however, expressed condolences to the families affected by the accident.
The statement said:
“The truck involved in the accident in Anambra State on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, is not in any way a BUA Cement truck,” the statement clarified.
“BUA Cement trucks are marked with our logo and truck numbers, making them easily identifiable as part of our standard practice.”
The company explained that the majority of their cement products are sold ex-factory, with customers responsible for transportation. In cases where door-to-door service is requested, BUA Transport, the company’s logistics arm, handles the delivery, adhering to high safety standards.
“As a responsible manufacturing company, BUA Cement Plc trains and retrains its truck drivers with the support of professional logistic bodies, including the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC),” the statement continued. “This ensures safe driving on our roads regardless of terrain, while also ensuring the safety of other road users.”
The company urged any platform that published the incorrect report to remove it and provided a contact number for reporting any dangerous driving behavior by its trucks: 0803 200 5193.
“We once again sympathize with the families involved, pray the Almighty to comfort their hearts, and give rest to the departed souls,” the statement concluded.
