Building Collapse in Obosi Claims the Life Of A Nursing Mother

Nursing mother dies in collapsed building

The sudden collapse of a storey building at Umuota village, Obosi town in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State on Sunday at 4pm has left a nursing mother dead and many others trapped.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed , in a statement said that the scene was visited and cordoned off by the police attached to Obosi Division and other security agencies in order to prevent hoodlums from gaining advantage to loot while effort was ongoing to rescue other victims suspected to have been trapped in the building.

Among the victims is a woman of about 40years old, whose name is yet to be ascertained as of the time of this report , was confirmed dead by a medical doctor and her baby is responding to treatment.

The Corpse was deposited at ST. Edward mortuary for preservation.

Mr Haruna said that the case is under investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident .
