Celebration Of Life: Dignitaries Storm Amesi To Commiserate With Valentine Ozigbo Following Father’s Funeral

The Ozigbo family of Amesi in Aguata LGA of Anambra State played host to a host of political, traditional, business, religious and student leaders on Saturday, April 23, 2022, as well-wishers and in-laws came to pay their condolences over the death of the family’s patriarch, Chief Andrew N. Ozigbo, who was laid to rest on Friday.

The late Chief Ozigbo, a legendary educationist in the Old Aguata region, catechist, and community leader, was the father of inspirational figure, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election.

While welcoming the large crowd who came to the Christ The Redeemer College, Amesi school field to sympathise with the Ozigbo family, Mr Valentine Ozigbo expressed his deepest gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of support his family has received as they pay their last respects to their father.

“I am short of words at the love we have received, and I assure you that we do not take it for granted. This is a glowing testament to my father’s life of impact and how we, his children, have carried on that great tradition,” Ozigbo, who is the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, said.

A host of dignitaries, relatives, and well-wishers were present to commiserate with the Ozigbos, including His Imperial Majesty, Igwe Obi, Dr Austin Ndigwe of Awka; Chief Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, the Chairman of Jezco Oil; Ichie Sunday Ezeobiora, one of West Africa’s biggest agri-businessmen and an in-law to the Ozigbos; His Royal Highness Igwe Raphael Okpalaeke of Amesi; His Royal Highness Igwe Barrister C.S Ezenwugo of Uga Kingdom, His Royal Highness Igwe Peter Ezeamama of Enugwu Umuonyia and Chief Ikem Chinyelugo (Oba Nnobi).

Others are Chief Livinus Anigbogu, owner of Villa Park Hotel Lagos, Hon Keluo Molokwu, a former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Andy Azike, an insurance industry tycoon; Chief Chika Emenike, the CEO of KOTEC Group, producers of Tummy Tummy Noodles and Event Table Water; Dr Innocent Ogbuji, the MD of Innotex International; Hon Dr Joe Akabuike, a former Anambra State Commissioner for Health; Ichie Mike Ezenduka, a successful business mogul; UNN Alumni Association, ICAN Awka District, the International Federation of Women Lawyers; the Federation of PDP Students, among others.
