Frank Lampard has been sacked by Chelsea football club after just 18 months as head coach of the club.
He is to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel, the former PSG coach, who was also recently fired by the French giants.

In a statement, Chelsea attributed his sack to his results and performances not meeting the club’s expectations, leaving them mid-table without any clear path to sustained improvement.

Also reacting, the owner of Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich said it was a very difficult decision for the club, noting he has an excellent personal relationship with Lampard and has the utmost respect for him.

Lampard, who is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, enjoyed a good first season as Blues boss, taking them to the FA Cup final and securing qualification for the Champions League.
He took the side on a 17-game unbeaten run but away defeats to Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Leicester and a 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City were notable dents in his reign as Chelsea coach.
