Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra State Barr Josiah Ifedi on Thursday 7th April 2022 declared his intention to contest for the position of the lawmaker representing Awka South 2 in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The brief ceremony was held at the PDP office at Nibo, with several PDP local governments executive in attendance.
In His speech, while addressing party leaders, secretaries, and supporters drew across the 11 wards of the Awka South 2 constituency at the PDP constituency office in Nibo, Chief Ifedi mentioned his contributions to his community and the local government over the years saying he intends to do more if given the opportunity.
Chief Ifedi equally promise to give priority attention to the general welfare of the people of Awka South 2 Constituency if elected adding that, he would do everything possible to bring all members of the party together and work for the success of the party in the 2023 general polls.
He proceeded to Akabueze Palace where he received royal blessings from his Majesty, Igwe PN Anugwu.
