The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra State Command, Mr. Isidore Chikere, has advised family members of Civil Defence officers who died in active service not to give up hope as the Corps would try its best to support them at all times.
The State Commandant gave the advice on Friday, 2nd September, 2022, when he presented Anambra State Command Welfare Package to the next of kins of dead officers at the State Commandant Headquarters, Awka.
He condoled with the deceased families, and urged them to reciprocate the kind gesture by making judicious use of the money for the benefit of their families, saying it would cushion the effect of their pains and sufferings.
He informed that the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, prioritised welfare of officers and men of the Corps to motivate them in the fight against insurgency and other violent crimes in the country.
Mr. Chikere who noted that the monumental loss of the fallen heroes could not be compared to the value of the welfare package, advised against misuse of the money.
One of the next of kin who spoke on behalf of others, Pastor Nwasike, thanked the State Commandant for recognizing the sacrifices of the late officers even in death.
