After much intrigues and suspense, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential ticket has gone to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Atiku got 371 votes , defeating his closest rival Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who secured 237 votes.
His win has gained different opinions from Nigerians with congratulatory messages pouring in for Alhaji Atiku.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state , who withdrew his aspiration to be nominated as the presidential candidate in support of Atiku, said that it is historic for Atiku to be clinching the party ticket twice , the first time in 2018. He said that his nomination by the party in this critical time in the nation is a quest for great leap forward and a good omen.
Also in a separate congratulatory message, Senator Jim Nwobodo has said that Alhaji Atiku has the ability and tenacity to restore the unity, security and economy of Nigeria if elected President.
Also, Nwobodo congratulated the national chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu and the party stakeholders for a successful, transparent and peaceful presidential primary election.
